BOBCAT FROSH GIRLS BOUNCE PAST VIKINGS

(2/14/08 Paradise, CA) A 49-point first half helped the Paradise girls' freshman basketball team take a 66-35 win over Pleasant Valley Thursday at the Bobcats' home gym.
Hannah Roberts hit a three-pointer 12 seconds into the game for the Bobcats' first points. Carly Summerville's bucket with 6:19 remaining in the first quarter cut the Vikings' deficit to 5-2. Roberts added a three with 3:12 to go in the period to give Paradise a 14-2 lead. Jessica Crane made a hoop with 2:38 left in the first as PV trailed 15-4.
Stephanie Vestnys hit a shot 24 seconds into the second quarter to put the Bobcats up 25-6. A basket from Caitlin Dunn 16 seconds later gave the Vikings their first score of the period. A three by Roberts with 3:42 left in the first half extended Paradise's lead to 39-10. Marinda Wolfe made a bucket with 27 seconds remaining as the Bobcats went up 49-10.
A three-pointer by Catharine Rees 22 seconds into the third quarter gave Paradise a 42-point advantage. Emma Limburg countered with a three of her own 18 seconds later for Pleasant Valley's first points of the second half. A hoop from Emma Parsons with 2:03 remaining in the third cut the Vikings deficit to 57-19. Elizabeth Hardiman hit a basket with 1:09 to go as the Bobcats took a 59-21 lead.
Summerville made a shot 13 seconds into the fourth quarter as PV's deficit stood at 61-25. Wolfe connected on a bucket 27 seconds later to open up Paradise's scoring for the period. The Vikings reached 30 points on a hoop by Taylor Davis with 3:25 to go in the contest. Kailey Williams hit a basket with 1:27 left as the Bobcats went ahead 65-30.
Brieanna Churchill paced Paradise with 17 points and six rebounds. Rees chipped in 17 points and five rebounds, while Roberts added 13 points and three rebounds. Summerville led Pleasant Valley with eight points, while Limburg and Davis each scored five points.
